The rules

How it works

One card, one auction, one fair finish. Here's exactly how bidding, winning, paying and shipping work on HEAT-HITS-LIVE.

Register & verify

Create an account, confirm your email and add your shipping address.

Save a payment method

Add a card through our payment provider and agree to be charged automatically if you win.

Bid until Friday

Every card closes Friday night. Late bids extend the clock.

Win, pay, ship

Winners are charged the winning bid plus shipping, then the card ships with tracking.

Weekly auctions

Each card is listed as its own auction. Auctions close every Friday at 8:00 pm Adelaide time (lots may be staggered a minute apart so you can follow each one). The countdown on every card shows days, hours, minutes and seconds remaining. The closing time is set and enforced by our server, not your device.

Bidding

  • You must be signed in, have a verified email and have a saved payment method to bid.
  • Each auction shows the current highest bid, the number of bids, the full bid history and the minimum next bid.
  • A bid is a binding commitment to buy if you win.
  • Bid history shows masked bidder names, amounts and times so the bidding is transparent.

Bid increments

The minimum next bid is the current bid plus an increment based on the price:

  • A$0–A$20: A$1 increments
  • A$20–A$100: A$2 increments
  • A$100–A$500: A$5 increments
  • A$500+: A$10 increments

Anti-sniping protection

If a bid is placed in the final 2 minutes, the auction is extended by another 2 minutes. This keeps repeating while bids keep arriving, so every bidder gets a fair chance to respond. You'll see a notice on the auction when it has been extended.

Reserve prices

Some cards have a hidden reserve, the minimum price the seller will accept. The auction shows whether the reserve has been met, but never the reserve amount. If the reserve isn't met when the auction closes, the card goes unsold and nobody is charged.

Winning & payment

When an auction closes with the reserve met, the highest valid bidder wins. Their saved payment method is charged automatically for the winning bid plus shipping, which you agreed to when you saved your card. Some banks ask for an extra security check; if so, we'll email you a secure link to complete it.

Currency

Prices can be displayed in AUD, USD, NZD, GBP, EUR or CAD. Each auction runs and charges in one currency (usually AUD), shown clearly before you bid. Converted prices are estimates only; your bank converts the final charge.

Shipping

Shipping is calculated from your address and shown before you pay. Graded slabs and multi-card orders have their own rates. Every order ships with tracking. See the shipping policy.
